Bridge Over Sesto Calende
A path runs along the river from end to end of Sesto Calende, summoning people to an active, outdoor life. Joggers, cyclers and strollers are seen throughout the day enjoying the beautiful scenery along the river. The iron bridge in the painting provides structure to an otherwise organic, loose landscape. There is great emphasis on impasto strokes of pure color in the water, trees and grass, suggesting a windy midday walk.
